Michael started riding after attending a summer camp in Tuxedo, NC. He attended the camp for three years and after asking incessantly for riding lessons, his father relented at the age of 12. He happened upon a barn that hosted Pony Club rallies where he started eventing at the beginner novice and novice levels while riding the lesson horses. It was a clinic with Denny Emerson and a summer at his farm that made Michael realize he had an opportunity and future in eventing professionally. He spent three or four summers at Denny’s farm and by 22 had completed his first Rolex Kentucky CCI****. Immediately following Michael moved to Dalton, GA and set-up shop at (now father-in-law) Carl Bouckaert’s farm where he really started to piece together all the components of his riding technique. Michael is constantly working with greats such as German Olympian, Bettina Hoy, US Eventing Chef d’Equipe, David O’Connor, and the US Eventing Show Jumping Coach, Silvio Mazzoni to better his technique and his ability as a horse person and rider. In addition to being a full-time horseman, Michael Pollard and his wife Nathalie run Chatsworth Stud, a breeding and training facility in Chatsworth GA, home to Tamarack Hill’s Formula One, Gustav Schickedanz’s Songline, Halimey Go, LLC’s Halimey, Indian Creek Farm’s Rusticus and Querdolan Vitarel. Michael is also CEO of several carpet and equine related businesses run out of Dalton, GA. He and Nathalie have four beautiful, blonde children.

Nathalie Bouckaert Pollard
Nathalie Bouckaert Pollard started competing at the age of 11. Having grown up in a family that shares in the passion for horses (her father, Carl Bouckaert, competed for Belgium in the Olympics) it was only natural that Nathalie would make a life out of horses. Nathalie won back to back Individual Gold medals at the 1997 and 1998 North American Junior/Young Riders Championships. In 2005 she won the Fair Hill International CCI*** with her horse West Farthing and in 2006, the pair finished eighth at the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event CCI****. Nathalie met Michael when they were teenagers. He was 17, spending the summer working at Denny Emerson’s and she was training under Kelly Temple at Huntington Farm for the Young Rider Championships. They met at a local barn party and Michael was immediately impressed by Nathalie’s candor. They were friends for nine years before actually embarking on a relationship together. They were 23 when they were married, and since then have built businesses (equine and non-equine), shared competitive dreams, and had four children together.
Allison joined PE as a working student in the fall of 2012. Originally from Asheville, NC, Allison grew up riding with her whole family, eventually earning her C2 in Pony Club. She attended Montreat College where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, and went on to work for Jim Graham as a working student from Aug. 2011 to Aug. 2012 when she joined PE. Allison moved to Georgia with her black Labrador and her chestnut gelding, Ned. Ned and Allison had a solid season last year competing through Intermediate, until it was time for Ned to retire. Allison now has a new mount, Merlot, who she is enjoying competing through the levels while they get to know one another. When she’s not on a horse… the girl can dance! On the side Allison does a bit of Salsa and Argentine Tango dancing.
Ashley has been a horse enthusiast since the age of four and caught the eventing bug in 2002. Growing up in Malvern, PA she was involved with the Radnor Hunt Pony Club eventually earning her “A” rating. Pam Wiedemann was her first eventing trainer, until 2005 when Ashley started as a working student for Karen and David O’Connor. She continued to train with the O’Connors and Emily Beshear while finishing her BBA at James Madison University. Ashley competed successfully through the CCI*** level with former partner Mazetto. Today Ashley is furthering her riding skills and knowledge by riding horses for various competitors, owners and trainers. In 2010 she rode for Emily Beshear and from there starting riding and competing for Debbie while Debbie recovered from an injury. Ashley then rode for Sharon White in 2012 until recently deciding to make the move to Georgia to work with Pollard Eventing. Ashley’s goal is to be a future member of the US Equestrian Team and we are so lucky to have her at PE to help keep all the horses in tip-top shape! Ashley and her young mare “V” are currently competing at the intermediate level so keep your eyes peeled for this duo!
Daniel started riding at the tender age of four. A former cop, he graduated as part of the Remount Unit for the National Police of Ecuador in 2004, where he had started competing professionally in show jumping and dressage . Daniel had the great honor of representing the National Equestrian Team Police of Ecuador at both the national and international levels. In 2010, Daniel took his first stab at eventing competing various horses either owned by the Police Force, himself or owners. In 2011, Daniel was selected to represent Ecuador in the Pan American Games held in Guadalajara, Mexico with his horse DON KING. Daniel joined the PE Team in November, 2012. He literally arrived for an interview and has been part of the team since. His dream is to compete in a CCI**** and he is grateful to Michael and Nathalie for the opportunity to work, train and ride horses as a member of Pollard Eventing.
Abby Sell grew up in Moorestown, NJ and loved horses and all animals from a very young age. She combined her love of animals with her natural business tenacity and started a pet sitting business at the age of 12 to raise money so she could take riding lessons. Her dedication towards horses allowed her to eventually work for several farms in exchange for riding lessons and riding privileges, which entailed competing in hunter/jumpers. Abby attended Burlington County College and started a collegiate riding team that competed in NJ, PA, DE and MD. After earning her Associates Degree in Deaf Studies, Abby developed and taught an equestrian summer enrichment program to several camp counselors from Urban Promise in Camden, NJ. Abby also enjoyed the opportunity of working for Debbie Adams Sport Horses from 2011-2013 where she was introduced to the world of eventing. She then worked for a European horse importer before coming across “the job of a lifetime” with Pollard Eventing. Abby is an absolute rock star and we are so happy to have her at PE!
Lisbeth was born with an innate love of horses and began riding at 6. Unfortunately she was forced to give it up at 16 due to a severe injury and wasn’t able to return for several years. But now that she’s back, it’s on! Lisbeth came back to riding about 8 years ago. To fund her adult riding, she has worked as the Head Groom/Barn Manager at an event barn in Santa Fe, NM as well as a dressage facility. Once gaining enough confidence and experience, Liz went to work as the Head Groom/Barn Manager for Olympian Kim Severson from 2011-2014. While there, Kim helped Liz to progress with her 2008 OTTB, Open Rebellion, from Beginner Novice to Preliminary. Meanwhile, Liz groomed for Kim at several top level FEI events, including the 2014 Rolex CCI**** and the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandie, France. Lisbeth joined Pollard Eventing in September of 2014. She looks forward to learning all that she can from Michael and Nathalie Pollard and hopefully becoming an FEI rider herself!
